GOD WILL SURELY VISIT US

July 2023

“And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years. And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.”
—Genesis 50:22-26

The story of Joseph is one of the greatest stories found in the Bible. In Genesis 39:21, the greatest compliment one could ever receive is given to Joseph, and that compliment was, “the Lord was with Joseph.”
There is a great lesson for all to learn in that statement and that is circumstances, though bad, sometimes don’t change. The fact is, the Lord will never leave His people. We have to learn that no matter how bad our circumstances may be, we are to never grow angry at the Lord, but we are to trust Him to see us through.
Joseph was now one hundred and ten years old, and his life is just about over. He had been a faithful servant; he had kept the faith, and God had used him to save his kindred.

GOD WILL SURELY VISIT YOU AND BRING YOU OUT OF THIS LAND
When Joseph uttered these words, he was speaking prophetically. He was saying to them, “Egypt is not our home. There is a place that God has provided for us—a promised land that flows with milk and honey. Egypt is just a temporary abode so don’t put down roots. We are not like the Egyptians, we don’t worship their false gods, we are children of the one true God, and He has prepared a place for us.”
The meaning of this for the church of today is the same. This world (Egypt) is not our home; we are just passing through. There is a place that the Lord of Glory has prepared just for us. A place of perfect peace and rest—heaven. We are not to allow the things of this world to hold any allurement to us. This life is temporary; there is another life to come—eternal life.
The believer is to live with the thought, “At any moment, I could be in the presence of God,” either through death or the rapture of the church.
Let me say it again, this world is not our home, therefore, it must not have any hold on the child of God. Matthew 6:20-21 says: “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
The system of the world is a system of servitude, heartache, burdens, and afflictions. But the place the Lord has prepared for us is a place of joy, plenty, freedom, and peace.

HOW DID GOD VISIT THEM?
He would raise up a man, Moses, fresh from the backside of the desert. A man written off and on the run for his life. A man not in a palace but the desert. A man not dressed in the fine clothing of royalty but clad in shepherd’s garb. A man not armed with the sword of a warrior but with a simple rod, and what a rod it was! A man who had one message, “Let my people go.” What a man and what a message!
The name Moses means “drawn out,” and his very name sums up his ministry—to draw out God’s people and bring them into God’s land. This is a perfect picture of Christ of whom Moses was a type. The Lord has one message for Satan: “Let my people go,” and soon He is going to draw us out of this pilgrim land into a land of milk and honey.

GOD WILL SURELY VISIT US
As God spoke through His servant, so, too, has the Lord spoken to us through His Word. Joel prophesied, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh” (Joel 2:28), and Peter proclaims it in Acts 2:17. This is the promise of the final move of God before the rapture. I believe that God will visit us in the greatest display of the power of the Holy Spirit that the world has ever seen.
I believe this visitation will be a visitation of salvation as the final harvest begins. I believe it will be a visitation of the healing and miracle working power of God. I believe the blind will see, the lame will walk, and the deaf will hear. I believe miracles are coming. I believe this visitation will cover the globe—every tongue, every tribe, and every nation.
Revelation 7:9 says: “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number of all nations and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.” Verse 10 then says: “And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” The one who sits on the throne is not finished yet. He is going to visit us one more time.
I’m ready, how about you?
